Turkijos prezidentas Recepas Tayyipas Erdoganas sekmadienį pagyrė savo šalį, priėmusią „istorinį sprendimą“, ir paskelbė pergalę referendume dėl konstitucijos reformos, smarkiai išplėsiančios jo galias.
„Šiandien … Turkija priėmė istorinį sprendimą“, – sakė žurnalistams R.T.Erdoganas Chiubero rūmuose, savo oficialioje rezidencijoje Stambule.
Konstitucijos reformos šalininkai surinko 51,3 proc., o „Ne“ stovykla – 48,7 proc. balsų, valstybinė Anatolijos naujienų agentūra citavo rinkimų komisijos duomenis, suskaičiavus balsalapius 99 proc. apylinkių.
R. T. Erdoganas taip pat paragino užsienio valstybes gerbti referendumo rezultatą po kampanijos, aptemdytos didelės įtampos su Europos Sąjunga.
„Norėčiau, kad kitos šalys ir institucijos parodytų pagarbą tautos sprendimui“, – sakė prezidentas ir paragino sąjungininkus nuo šiol labiau atkreipti dėmesį į Turkijai „opius dalykus“, ypač susijusius su „kova prieš terorą“.
