Paskutinėse pasaulio ledo ritulio čempionato IB diviziono rungtynėse Belfaste Lietuvos ledo ritulio rinktinė kovoje dėl grupės bronzos 3:1 (1:1, 1:0, 1:0) įveikė Kroatiją ir ketvirtus metus iš eilės pasipuošė šios grupės bronza.
Iškart po rungtynių lietuviams buvo įteikti medaliai, o karšto palaikymo tribūnose sulaukusi rinktinė ant ledo papozavo fotografams ir bemat nuskubėjo į rūbinę.
Kaip visada, rinktinės vyriausiasis treneris Berndas Haakė apdovanojo geriausius rinktinės žaidėjus. Geriausiu gynėju pripažintas Mindaugas Kieras, naudingiausiu – Ugnius Čižas, o vartininko prizą žinoma, gavo Artūras Pavliukovas.
„Ačiū jus visiems už pasirodymą čempionate. Ši trečia vieta buvo iškovota po sunkaus darbo ant ledo. Linkiu jums visiems sėkmės klubuose ateinantį sezoną ir nežinau, kada mes su jumis susitiksime.
